NL Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been labeled as the greatest poker player on the globe by quite a few of the top pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before his first birthday. His grandfather showed him to one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was hooked on poker and wished to pickup whatever he possibly could about poker. Phil routinely told his parents that he was going to be a professional poker player. He began competing intently after getting a false ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his game at the casinos of Atlantic City. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he achieved 2 final tables and came away with his first WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the final table he defeated quite a few of the well known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He decided to take his skills to the successive level and headed out west to Sin City. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Phil credits his achievements to discipline and an undying passion for the game of poker. Phil states that he is learning every single day and is incredibly humble about his success. He admits to making mistakes in each session of poker and always strives to get better.

Even though Phil has come first in some big-time tournaments, he favors winning cash games on a normal basis.
