For a game where the majority of gamblers rarely consider good luck, there are lots of superstitions in poker. When you mention that an individual was fortunate in that poker tournament they captured, be careful of how you mention it. For instance, if you say that you were unfortunate, your luck may not change.

Ok, that may sound a bit ubsurd, but poker is a game armed with folklores. Did you realize that if you’re gambling a game with two different decks and you’re asked to pick the deck, you should always choose the deck of cards that’s furthest from you? Or, what If you have a streak of terrible cards, you must hang out on a hankerchief to destroy your terrible luck? It’s certainly considered good fortune to blow through a deck of cards when they are being randomized.

Some other interesting poker folklores are:

  • You can alter the run of cards by walking around your chair 3 times.
  • The luckiest seat at the poker table faces the door.
  • The worst spot has its back to a fireplace.
  • When shifting spots, you really should constantly do so clockwise.
  • The most detrimental poker card is the four of clubs.
  • It’s most unfortunate to cross your legs when sitting at the poker table.
  • Mon is a awful day for gambling on cards.
  • The 13th is also a bad day, no matter what day of the week it is.
