NL Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been referred to as the number one poker player on the globe by many of the top pros. He was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before reaching turning one. His papa taught Phil penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was hooked on poker and wanted to discover everything he possibly could about the game. He routinely told his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He didn’t allow the detrimental comments from others annihilate his dream of being one of the strongest poker players on the planet.

He began playing intently after acquiring a false ID with the name of Jerome. He honed his techniques at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for him were a teaching experience and winning was not a regular outcome at the time. He became known at the 2000 WSOP where he achieved two final tables and won his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the closing table he destroyed many of the well known pros including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his skills to the next level and headed out west to Sin City. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Phil credits his success to dedication and a continuing passion for the game of poker. He says that he is picking up skills every single day and is very abashed about his achievements. Phil admits to making blunders every single session of poker and constantly strives to improve.

Despite the fact that Phil has come first in some big-time tournaments, he favors destroying money games on a normal basis.
