Pai Gow Poker is a modern game with old ancestry. Based on the ancient Chinese domino game and the current American variation of poker, Pai Gow poker marries the far east with the wild west in an excellent game for new players.
Pai Gow is a poker game that puts the gambler against the house, not like nearly all other poker games that gamblers wager against other gamblers. By betting against the dealer, beginning players do not have to be concerned about other, more knowledgeable players winning their $$$$.
Another Pai Gow advantage is the generally leisurely game play, newcomers should be able to take their time and plan while not needing to make quick selections.
It is also much simpler to enjoy for an extended time with only a tiny bit of cash after all, to lose, each of your hands has to be under both of the casino’s hands.
Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the familiar 52-card common deck and one joker. The player is assigned 7 cards faces showing and the casino gets seven cards face down.
A five card hand and one 2 card hand have to be made from the 7 cards, the five card hand has to be stronger than the 2 card hand. To succeed, a player needs both of his hand totals to be better than the casino’s.
