"What precisely is Texas hold’em pot odds and is a Texas hold em pot odds system worth pursuing?"
That was a latest question I received from on of my Holdem Students.
One issue to keep in mind, any type of Hold em chances can and usually do have incredibly confusing.
However, let me break pot possibilities down in quite uncomplicated terms. Please note that we are only discussing Pot Likelihood. Not outs, implied likelihood, basic possibilities or something else like that.
In short, pot possibilities are the probabilities you obtain when determining the ratio of the amount of money in the pot to the amount of money it’ll price you to call the bet.
For example, let us say you are heads up with Player A. If there is one hundred and fifty dollars in the pot after the flop and Gambler A places a twenty dollars wager it’ll price you only thirteen per cent of the pot to stay in the hand. If your likelihood of succeeding is greater than 13 per-cent it’s a no-brainer to call because you’d have good pot odds.
That’s all there is to it truly. Hold’em pot odds boils down to one thing. If your chance of winning is much better than the ratio of the pot size to the bet then you might have excellent pot chances. If it’s lower than you might have bad pot likelihood.
One additional thought about Holdem pot possibilities. You are still betting the player much more so than anything else. Bet on the gambler more than your starting hands or the size of the chip stack and even, yes the pot probabilities.
If it is possible to understand to read your opponents well you are able to utilize pot likelihood to help justify or solidify your decision. But Hold em pot odds don’t have to be an end all whenever you make a poker judgement.
Knowing and understanding how Hold’em pot possibilities work can be a useful and successful method. Except again do not generate Texas hold em pot probabilities your only system.
